Bloomington, Ind. – Hoosiers For Good Inc has received 501(c)(3) status, making it one of the first charitable NIL organizations in the country to receive a federal tax exemption.

Every donation that has been made to Hoosiers For Good since its establishment earlier this year—and every contribution to come—will now be tax deductible.

“We are pleased to be recognized as a 501(c)3 nonprofit” said HFG Executive Director Tyler Harris. “This will allow us to continue to advance our goal of amplifying the mission of our charitable partners through Indiana University student-athletes’ NIL, platform and influence.”

Launched in early March, Hoosiers For Good engages IU student athletes who are passionate about using their NIL to amplify the philanthropic work that helps Indiana communities thrive. In April, the organization announced its inaugural class of 14 Indiana University athletes who will represent eight charity partners including Indiana Wish, who is partnered with women’s basketball athletes Mackenzie Holmes and Grace Berger.

“Indiana Wish is so thrilled to have Grace and Mackenzie partner with us to raise awareness and funds for Indiana children,” said Indiana Wish Executive Director J’Lynn Cooper. “We have already seen great success through the partnership in our social media numbers. Through the added efforts of the girls, our social media numbers have gone up exponentially. Our Facebook and Instagram reach is up more than 150 percent and our Twitter reach is up more than 500 percent. This is in part due to Grace and Mackenzie’s willingness to share our message of hope to their social media followers. We are so grateful for their commitment to Indiana Wish and for making us their charity partner.”
