Indiana University alumnus Calbert Cheaney, a current assistant coach with the Indiana Pacers, has a storied Indiana basketball background. Originally from Evansville, Indiana, Calbert played basketball at IU for four seasons, from 1989-93. He was a three time All-American and is the Big Ten’s all-time leading scorer with 2,613 points. He went on to play 13 NBA seasons.

Calbert served as the director of operations and development for Indiana Basketball from 2011 to 2013, and continued his coaching career at St. Louis University from 2013-2016. Prior to joining the Pacers, Calbert spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the College Park Skyhawks, Atlanta’s G-League affiliate.

Calbert and his wife, Yvette, have two children, Julian and Sydney.
